"PROVIDING FAMILIES WITH A HAND UP RATHER THAN A HAND-OUT"
The Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity "On the Border" Lloydminster Society is very excited to announce that excavation for our 2011 Spring Duplex Build at 1510/12 - 47A Avenue, Lloydminster, SK is scheduled to begin April 15th. Two very deserving partner families have been chosen to purchase these homes.
Immediately following the excavation the basement framing begins. Volunteers are requird and work on the duplext will be scheduled regularly for Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays until the project is completed. Your help is needed and appreciated. "No experience necessary, just time and availability." There are many opportunities to feel good and lend a hand with our 2011 Project.
We would also encourage any businesses in our area willing to step forward to have team building days - get their staff involved or even sponsor a lunch for our volunteers.
Remember these homes are made affordable to our carefully selected partner families because they are build with volunteer labour and funds raised in our community.
Behind the scenes, volunteers such as special events/marketing and fundraising coordinators are also needed.
