Six families will be one step closer to living in new homes thanks to the donation of land by the Canadian Order of Foresters in Lloydminster.
In keeping with Habitat for Humanity "On the Border" Lloydminster Society's growth strategy, Rowena Epp, Board Chair, is excited to announce the acquistion of the Forester property at 4709-43rd Street, which will now be known as Forester Place. The Foresters' donation of $82,500 towards the purchase of this land enables "On the Border" to nearly double the number of homes built to date.
Cooperation with volunteers and community partners such as Foresters allows Habitat for Humanity to build simple decent homes for sale with no-interest mortgages to carefully chosen partner families in need of a "hand up" not a "hand out." Forester Place will provide a legacy of more than just six new homes. All of the mortage payments from Forester Place partner families will go towards the construction of more Habitat homes in the future.
